Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

Care Services Thirsk staff participated in the memory walk that took place in September. Caroline and her husband Neil completed the walk along with sons Kieran , Ronan and mini wirehaired dachshund Leo… In the pouring rain a circuit across the Humber Bridge and back was completed. Caroline wanted to do the walk to support the Alzheimer’s Charity and in memory of her Dad who passed away in May having suffered with the disease for a few years. Caroline said the event was very well organised and it was easy to register the group to take part. Caroline is hoping to make the memory walk and annual event.

Caroline said “the only thing that would have made the day better was if it had stopped raining for a few minutes. Leo the little dog never faulted and his best moment was when someone had dropped a mars bar on the path in front of him and he grabbed it in to his mouth and didn’t want to stop to eat it but let it melt as he walked on stoically.”
